SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

If your work is accepted for Journal Nine, you agree to grant us First North American Serial Rights and Electronic Archival Rights. Upon publication, all rights revert back to you. You agree that if your work subsequently appears elsewhere (in print or online), you will give credit to Journal Nine.

Journal Nine is a quarterly poetry journal. We publish a new issue every January, April, July and October.

We are committed to inclusivity and welcome submissions from marginalized voices and identities.

We are not able to pay contributors at this time.

  • You may submit a bio and up to six poems of any length in a word document to editorjournalnineATgmailDOTcom.

  • Our editorial staff can take up to three months before we make a final decision.

  • Simultaneous submissions are allowed and encouraged. Please email us to let us know when a poem has been accepted elsewhere so we can celebrate with you and withdraw it from our consideration.

  • We do not accept previously published pieces.

  • If you have been rejected, please do not submit again for 2 reading periods.
